PP-R Pipes

Polypropylene (PP-R) pipes for hot and cold domestic water, heating and air-conditioning installations. Haustherm Heliroma series are listed from Ø20 mm to Ø400 mm, with wall thicknesses from SDR 6 to SDR 17. Prices are per meter; pipes are supplied in the bar lengths given in the catalog. Choosing a series

HELISYSTEM PP-R 100 is a single-layer pipe series without fiber reinforcement, used in hot and cold domestic water installations. In the ROMAFASER PP-R 100 + FG and ROMAFASER CT PP-RCT 125 + FG series, the middle layer is glass-fiber reinforced (FG); because this layer reduces the pipe’s longitudinal thermal expansion, these series are preferred for heating and air-conditioning lines. The ROMAKLIMA series is intended for large-diameter air-conditioning lines that do not require a low SDR. Series made from PP-RCT 125 raw material are designed to operate at higher temperature/pressure combinations than PP-R 100.

What does SDR mean?

SDR is the ratio of the pipe’s outside diameter to its wall thickness. The lower the ratio, the thicker the wall: SDR 6 is the thickest-walled series and SDR 17 the thinnest. At the same diameter, an SDR 6 pipe withstands a higher operating pressure, while an SDR 17 pipe has a larger inside diameter (lower pressure loss). Jointing methods

Heliroma PP-R pipes are joined by socket fusion welding, electrofusion and, for large diameters, butt fusion welding. In PP-R systems, welding creates a leak-tight joint without seals; it is therefore recommended that the pipe and fittings be of the same raw material class.

Listed prices are per meter. Order quantities are rounded up to whole bar lengths (4 m bars for Ø20–125 mm pipes). Some sizes of Ø125 mm and above are supplied on request and are subject to a minimum order quantity.
