İSKİ Water Meter Fees 2026 (Istanbul) — Current Prices by Meter Size

İSKİ water meter fees depend on the meter size and type and are set by İSKİ (Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration). The list below is the current tariff published at İSKİ customer service points. Amounts are in Turkish lira (TRY), excluding VAT, and may be updated during the year.

Why is DN65 cheaper than DN50?
The reason for this apparent anomaly is simple: the meter type changes at DN65. DN20–DN50 are threaded, dry-dial multi-jet meters. From DN65 upwards the tariff switches to flanged Woltman meters, whose measuring mechanism is a simpler turbine assembly, so the fee drops one step at the transition and then rises again with size.
When choosing between DN50 and DN65, look at the flow rate and the connection type of the installation, not only at the price. Fitting a flanged meter on a threaded line means extra flanges, gaskets and installation labor.
Smart water meters with remote reading and shut-off valve
This group covers meters that can be read remotely and whose water supply can be opened and closed centrally.

Smart water meters with remote reading only
Meters that only read remotely, without a shut-off valve, are considerably cheaper:

At DN100 the difference is striking: the remote-reading meter costs 11,657 TRY, while the same size with shut-off costs 18,511 TRY. The difference of about 6,900 TRY is the price of the remote shut-off function alone. Buildings without a collection risk may not need it.
The meter fee is not the only cost

When does a water meter need to be replaced?
In Türkiye, water meters are subject to periodic re-verification under the Law on Measures and Calibration No. 3516; for water meters the period is 10 years. Requirements differ by country, so check your local regulations. Other common reasons for replacing a meter:
- Meter failure, a broken glass or a meter burst by frost
- A damaged or removed seal (stamp)
- A larger meter size needed because the flow rate of the installation increased
- A common meter being split into individual accounts
What do the markings on the meter mean?
The markings on a water meter dial follow ISO 4064 / MID. The most common ones:
- Q3 — the permanent flow rate (m³/h) at which the meter can operate continuously. This is the main criterion for choosing the size.
- R — the measuring range ratio (Q3/Q1). The higher the R value, the better the meter measures low flow rates.
- T30 / T50 / T90 — the maximum water temperature the meter can operate at.
- Verification year — the year the meter was first stamped; in Türkiye the 10-year re-verification period starts from this year.
- Serial number — the unique number registered to the account; it is the reference in billing disputes.

Frequently asked questions
How much does İSKİ charge to replace a water meter?
The main item paid on replacement is the meter fee itself: 1,385 TRY for a DN20 mechanical meter and 2,869 TRY for DN25 (excl. VAT). For remote-reading models the fee follows the second and third tables above. Installation and any plumbing work are charged separately.
Does İSKİ collect the meter fee?
When the connection is handled through İSKİ, the meter fee is added to the account file. Sub-meters in the building's own installation (in-apartment metering, meters used for heat cost allocation) are outside this tariff.
Why is DN32 not on the list?
The İSKİ tariff covers DN20, DN25, DN40 and larger sizes. DN32 meters are used in buildings' own internal installations and are not listed as utility account meters.
Do the prices include VAT?
No. All amounts above exclude VAT.
