Electrofusion fittings contain an embedded resistance wire that heats the pipe from the outside and fuses it to the fitting. Where butt fusion or socket fusion is not possible — in a narrow shaft, on an existing line, in repairs — they are the only solution.

The welding unit reads the barcode on the fitting and applies the required current and time automatically; the margin for workmanship errors is significantly lower than with conventional socket fusion.

Electrofusion fittings are single-use: once fused, a fitting cannot be removed and reused. Before installation, the oxide layer on the pipe end must be scraped off and the surface degreased; if these two steps are skipped, the joint may look perfect but will separate under pressure.

Do not pressurize the line until the cooling time has elapsed. Sizes are selected by the pipe’s outside diameter (DN25–DN315).
