Room Thermostats

Thermostats that control room temperature in radiator and underfloor heating systems. The Danfoss RET, TP5001, TPOne, Icon2 and Ally series and Honeywell Home models are listed in wired or wireless (RF/Zigbee), battery- or mains-powered and programmable versions. Wired or wireless?

A wired thermostat is connected to the boiler (or combi boiler) or to the manifold control box with a two-wire cable; where a cable can be run without renovation work, it is the most reliable solution. In wireless (RF) models, the thermostat runs on batteries and a receiver unit installed next to the boiler drives the relay output — allowing installation in existing buildings without running cables.

Programmable thermostats

Programmable models let you set different temperature periods during the day (e.g., lower during the day, comfort temperature in the evening). Functions such as weekly programs, holiday mode and frost protection vary by model; each product page lists the setting range, power supply and contact type in a table.

Underfloor heating control

In underfloor heating, room thermostats are connected to a master controller (e.g., Danfoss Icon2), which opens the thermal actuator of the relevant circuit. Wired and wireless room thermostats can be used together in the same system, and a floor sensor can be used to limit the floor surface temperature.

Smart home and remote control

Zigbee models (Danfoss Ally, Icon2) are managed with an app via a gateway; radiator thermostats, room sensors and the master controller work on the same network. For remote access, the gateway must be ordered separately.
