DN250 is the flanged heat meter size used in district heating and cooling networks and on the main lines of large campuses and industrial facilities.

DN250 corresponds to a 10-inch pipe size. For this size, the manufacturer ZENNER’s data sheet for the IUF ultrasonic flow sensor gives a nominal flow rate (qp) of 400 m³/h, a maximum flow rate of 800 m³/h and a minimum flow rate of 4 m³/h; body lengths between 400 and 600 mm are available, and the pressure class is PN16. As the unpacked weight is approximately 49–64 kg depending on the body length, transport and installation should be planned accordingly. In ZENNER’s IUF series, the metering point is not a single unit: the flow sensor transmits the measured volume to the calculator unit as a pulse signal, and the energy calculation and data logging take place in the calculator unit. For this reason, the calculator unit, the temperature sensor pair and the reading system are planned together at the quotation stage.
