The Siemens VVF42 series are flanged 2-way seat control valves. In sizes DN50–DN150 with kvs values of 40–400 m³/h, they provide flow control in air handling unit, boiler room, heat exchanger and district heating circuits. Body material: cast iron EN-GJL-250. Suitable medium: hot water. Medium temperature range is -10…150 °C.
The valve is operated by a linear electromotive or electrohydraulic actuator; the actuator is selected according to stroke and close-off pressure. Siemens actuators verified with this series are listed below.

Selection and installation notes
- The kvs value is selected according to the required pressure drop across the valve at the design flow rate; an oversized kvs reduces control quality.
- When selecting the actuator, choose an actuating force suited to the valve's stroke and close-off differential pressure.
- For glycol-water mixtures or special media, verify the valve's media compatibility in the datasheet.
