NVS AISI 316 Stainless Steel Wafer Check Valve
The NVS AISI 316 stainless steel wafer check valve has wafer type, installed between flanges and is available in 7 sizes from 1½″–6″. Clamped between two flanges with studs; its thin body saves space and prevents reverse flow.
AISI 316 (1.4401) is a molybdenum-alloyed stainless steel. It resists chloride media, sea water and chemicals considerably better than grade 304 and is recommended for swimming pools, coastal, chemical and outdoor applications.

Selection and installation notes
- 304 or 316? Molybdenum-alloyed; chloride media, sea water, swimming pools and chemicals. For general water and heating applications the more economical AISI 304 is sufficient.
- Joining stainless steel directly to galvanized or carbon steel pipe can cause galvanic corrosion; a dielectric (insulating) union is recommended between different metals.
