NVS AISI 304 Stainless Steel Dome Cap Nut DIN 1587
NVS AISI 304 stainless steel dome cap nut: hex, domed closed end, female thread. Size range: M3–M30 (15 sizes). This hex nut has one end closed in a dome shape. It covers the bolt end, protects the threads from impact and dirt, and gives the joint a neat, closed finish.
AISI 304 (1.4301) is a general-purpose chromium-nickel stainless steel. It is widely used in water, heating and cooling, compressed air, food processing and indoor and outdoor applications.

Selection and installation notes
- Because the end is closed, choose the bolt length by the inner depth of the nut; the bolt end should enter the dome but not bottom out.
- Stainless threads carry a risk of galling (cold welding); lubricate the threads and tighten at low speed.
- A2 (304) is sufficient for general indoor and outdoor use; in chlorine, salt water or heavy chemical environments, choose A4 (316).
- Direct contact between stainless steel and galvanized or carbon steel can cause galvanic corrosion; use insulation (washers, unions) between different metals.
