Standard safety relief valves
The 311, 312, 313, 314, 513 and 514 series standard safety relief valves are used in heating systems, in domestic hot water systems to protect the hot water storage tank, and in water systems in general.
Heating systems
Standard safety relief valves compliant with Italian safety regulations can also be fitted to heat generators with an output below 35 kW.
Installation
Before a safety relief valve is installed, it must be correctly sized by qualified technical personnel in accordance with the regulations in force for the specific application. It must not be used for any purpose other than that specified. Safety relief valves must be installed by qualified and competent technical personnel in accordance with the regulations in force. The safety relief valve must be installed in the flow direction indicated by the arrow on the valve body.
Heating system: The safety relief valve must be installed on top of the boiler or on the flow pipe, no more than one meter from the boiler (section R). The connecting pipe between the safety relief valve and the boiler must not contain any joints.
Connection
The safety relief valve can be installed vertically or horizontally, but not upside down. This prevents the build-up of foreign matter that could affect its correct operation.
