Polimeter PHW Series
Polimeter PHW is a single-jet mechanical hot water meter manufactured by FNF Teknoloji in Kayseri, Türkiye; it is used to measure the consumption of apartments and dwelling units in buildings with central hot water systems. The cold water model of the same family is the PCW.
The meter register has an optical reflector. Retrofittable communication modules read consumption from this reflector with an optical sensor and also detect the direction of water flow; the meter can therefore be installed without a module and upgraded to remote meter reading when needed.
Key Features
- Single-jet mechanism; according to the manufacturer, it can also measure low flow rates
- Design unaffected by external magnetic fields and protected against external tampering
- IP65 protection class: water- and dust-resistant body
- Conforms to EN 14154; EU type-examination certificate under MID (RO-2275-23620)
- The M-Bus module is powered from the M-Bus line; if line power is cut, it continues to operate on its internal battery for up to 5 years and records consumption irregularities as events
- Made in Türkiye (FNF Teknoloji, Kayseri)
Applications
- Metering of each apartment's hot water consumption in apartment buildings and residential complexes with central hot water systems
- Allocation of hot water costs among apartments based on consumption
- Hot water lines in hotels, dormitories, sports facilities and workplaces
- Meter systems read remotely via M-Bus
Why Polimeter PHW-20?
Thanks to its retrofittable M-Bus module, the PHW-20 can be used without a module today and upgraded to remote meter reading when needed. Since M-Bus is an open protocol (EN 13757-3), the meter can be read together with heat meters and other M-Bus devices on the same line. Local manufacturing makes supply and spare parts easier.
Installation, Reading and Re-verification
The meter is installed in the hot water line so that the arrow on its body points in the direction of water flow; it can be mounted in a horizontal, vertical or inclined position. Fitting a strainer upstream of the meter and a valve on each side makes maintenance and replacement easier.
Check your local regulations for the periodic re-verification requirements of hot water meters.
In Türkiye, Novus Energy provides remote meter reading and consumption-based cost allocation services for buildings with central heating systems.
