NVS Brass Spring Check Valve
NVS - Yellow Spring Check Valve
The Yellow Spring Check Valve is a type of valve-type connecting element used in water plumbing and industrial applications, generally preventing backflow (non-return) or providing pressure control. It is especially preferred in pressure ratings such as PN10 and PN16 and is recognized by its yellow spring mechanism.
Features and Intended Use
- Operating Principle:
- Thanks to its spring mechanism, it allows one-way passage of water or other media (prevents backflow).
- It closes automatically when pressure drops or flow stops, preventing leakage.
- Material:
- Body: Brass, cast iron or stainless steel.
- Spring: Stainless steel (the yellow color may serve corrosion resistance or standard marking).
- Disc (Flap): With NBR, EPDM or Viton seal.
- Areas of Use:
- Water plumbing (booster pump systems, mains lines).
- Industrial processes (chemical, food, HVAC systems).
- Irrigation systems (pressure regulation in drip lines).
Advantages
✔ Fast response – Closes instantly when flow stops.
✔ Gasket-free design – Long service life thanks to the spring and conical disc.
✔ Low pressure loss – Operates more efficiently than other check valves.
Installation and Points to Note
- It must be installed in the correct direction (the arrow on the body shows the flow direction).
- In high-pressure lines, an additional gasket or sealant may be required.
- Requires periodic inspection (spring elasticity and disc wear).
Standards and Alternatives
- Manufactured in accordance with standards such as DIN 3356, EN 12334.
