NVS AISI 316 Stainless Steel Spring Lock Washer DIN 127
NVS AISI 316 stainless steel spring lock washer: split, spring-shaped, with center hole. Size range: M4–M30 (14 sizes). This washer works like a spring thanks to its single split. When tightened, its spring-back force makes it harder for the bolt-nut joint to loosen.
AISI 316 (1.4401) is a molybdenum-alloyed stainless steel. It resists chloride media, sea water and chemicals significantly better than grade 304 and is recommended for swimming pools, coastal sites, chemical plants and outdoor use.

Selection and installation notes
- A split spring washer is a supplementary measure against loosening; on its own it is not considered sufficient for critical joints.
- Do not seat it directly on a soft surface; place a flat washer underneath so it does not crush the surface.
- Choose the bolt, nut and washer in the same grade; mixing grades upsets the corrosion balance of the joint.
- AISI 304 is intended for general use; choose AISI 316 for chloride media, sea water and swimming pool applications.
- Direct contact between stainless steel and galvanized or carbon steel can cause galvanic corrosion; use insulation (washers, unions) between different metals.
