NVS AISI 316 Stainless Steel Concentric Reducer (Butt-Weld, DIN 2616)
NVS AISI 316 stainless steel concentric reducer: butt-weld ends, concentric. Size range: 3/4″ × 1/2″ – 12″ × 10″ (45 sizes). This fitting provides a gradual change in diameter, joining two pipes of different sizes on the same axis by butt welding.
AISI 316 (1.4401) is a molybdenum-alloyed stainless steel. It resists chloride media, sea water and chemicals significantly better than grade 304 and is recommended for swimming pools, coastal sites, chemical plants and outdoor use.

Selection and installation notes
- On horizontal lines, at points where air pockets or deposits may form, an eccentric reducer can also be considered.
- Use a filler wire or electrode that matches the grade; after welding, clean the area by pickling and passivation.
- Grade 316 contains molybdenum and resists chloride media and sea water better than 304.
- Direct contact between stainless steel and galvanized or carbon steel can cause galvanic corrosion; use insulation (washers, unions) between different metals.
