NVS AISI 316 Stainless Steel Butt-Weld Equal Tee
The NVS AISI 316 stainless steel butt-weld tee has butt-weld ends, equal tee and is available in 14 sizes from 1/2″–12″. Takes an equal-size branch from a welded stainless pipeline.
AISI 316 (1.4401) is a molybdenum-alloyed stainless steel. It resists chloride media, sea water and chemicals considerably better than grade 304 and is recommended for swimming pools, coastal, chemical and outdoor applications.

Selection and installation notes
- 304 or 316? Molybdenum-alloyed; chloride media, sea water, swimming pools and chemicals. For general water and heating applications the more economical AISI 304 is sufficient.
- For welded joints use stainless pipe of the same grade and a suitable filler wire; clean the surface after welding (pickling / passivation).
- Joining stainless steel directly to galvanized or carbon steel pipe can cause galvanic corrosion; a dielectric (insulating) union is recommended between different metals.
