NVS AISI 316 Stainless Steel Male Tail Union (Conical Seat)
NVS AISI 316 stainless steel male tail union: BSP male threaded tail on one end, conical seat. Size range: ½″–4″ (9 sizes). This union has a male-threaded tail on one end and a conical seat; the center nut provides a threaded connection that can be taken apart and refitted.
AISI 316 (1.4401) is a molybdenum-alloyed stainless steel. It resists chloride media, sea water and chemicals significantly better than grade 304 and is recommended for swimming pools, coastal sites, chemical plants and outdoor use.

Selection and installation notes
- Use PTFE tape or a thread sealant; do not over-tighten stainless threads, as this can cause galling (cold welding).
- Do not scratch the conical seat surfaces; clean them before assembly.
- Grade 316 contains molybdenum and resists chloride media and sea water better than 304.
- Direct contact between stainless steel and galvanized or carbon steel can cause galvanic corrosion; use insulation (washers, unions) between different metals.
