NVS AISI 316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope Clip
NVS AISI 316 stainless steel wire rope clip: u-bolt with saddle, two nuts. Size range: Ø3–Ø12 mm (7 sizes). This wire rope fitting consists of a U-bolt and a grooved saddle. It is used to form an eye (loop) at the end of a wire rope or to secure the rope; being grade 316, it is preferred in marine and chemical environments.
AISI 316 (1.4401) is a molybdenum-alloyed stainless steel. It resists chloride media, sea water and chemicals significantly better than grade 304 and is recommended for swimming pools, coastal sites, chemical plants and outdoor use.

Selection and installation notes
- Choose the size according to the wire rope diameter (3 – 12 mm); on a rope of a different diameter, the clip will not hold or will crush the rope.
- Use it together with a thimble in the rope eye; tighten the nuts gradually and evenly.
- To reduce the risk of galling (cold welding) on stainless threads, lightly lubricate the thread and tighten slowly.
- AISI 304 is intended for general use; choose AISI 316 for chloride media, sea water and swimming pool applications.
- Direct contact between stainless steel and galvanized or carbon steel can cause galvanic corrosion; use insulation (washers, unions) between different metals.
