NVS AISI 304 Stainless Steel Hex Flange Nut DIN 6923
NVS AISI 304 stainless steel hex flange nut: hex body with wide flange, internal thread. Size range: M3–M16 (8 sizes). This nut has a wide flange under the hex body that acts as a washer. It spreads the clamping force over a larger area without a separate washer.
AISI 304 (1.4301) is a general-purpose chromium-nickel stainless steel. It is widely used in water, heating and cooling, compressed air, food processing and indoor and outdoor applications.

Selection and installation notes
- Because the flange spreads the load, it reduces surface crushing on soft materials (aluminum, plastic).
- Stainless threads are prone to galling (cold welding); lubricate the threads and tighten at low speed.
- A2 (304) is sufficient for general indoor and outdoor use; in chlorine, salt water or aggressive chemical environments, choose A4 (316).
- Direct contact between stainless steel and galvanized or carbon steel can cause galvanic corrosion; use insulation (washers, unions) between different metals.
