NVS AISI 304 Stainless Steel Square Nut DIN 557
NVS AISI 304 stainless steel square nut: square body, internal metric thread. Size range: M5–M16 (6 sizes). This nut has a four-sided body. Its square shape sits in a channel or slot and prevents rotation, so the nut stays in place in profile and rail joints.
AISI 304 (1.4301) is a general-purpose chromium-nickel stainless steel. It is widely used in water, heating and cooling, compressed air, food processing and indoor and outdoor applications.

Selection and installation notes
- The slot size must suit the width across flats of the nut; check the size table.
- Stainless threads carry a risk of galling (cold welding); lubricate the threads and tighten at low speed.
- A2 (304) is sufficient for general indoor and outdoor use; in chlorine, salt water or aggressive chemical environments choose A4 (316).
- Direct contact between stainless steel and galvanized or carbon steel can cause galvanic corrosion; use insulation (washers, unions) between different metals.
