NVS - 3/4 - 1/2'' Reducing Extension

The 3/4" - 1/2" reducing extension is a special adapter used in plumbing systems to join pipe connections of different sizes. One end has a 3/4 inch (20 mm) thread and the other end a 1/2 inch (15 mm) thread, and it is usually made of brass, chrome-plated brass or stainless steel.

Intended Use

1. Matching Different Sizes:
• Joins 3/4" pipe to 1/2" pipe/device connections (e.g. between a valve and a faucet).
2. Installation Modification:
• Matches old and new pipe sizes when renovating or repairing an existing system.
3. Pressure Balancing:
• Protects sensitive devices by reducing the water pressure (3/4"→1/2").

Installation Steps

1. Shut off the system (stop the water flow).
2. Wrap PTFE tape around the 3/4" end and tighten it onto the valve/pipe.
3. Place a gasket in the 1/2" end and connect the hose/device.
4. Turn the water on and check for leaks.

⚠️ Caution!

• Always use PTFE tape on models without a gasket.
• Avoid overtightening (brass may crack).
• Choose stainless steel to prevent corrosion.

Note: Depending on the region, a reducing extension may also be called a pipe extension adapter or reducing union.
