Selection and installation notes
- Choose the electrode diameter by material thickness and current; keep to the current range given on the pack and drawing (e.g. 80–120 A for Ø3.25).
- The pack is vacuum-sealed; once it is opened, store the electrodes in a dry place and do not use electrodes that have absorbed moisture.
- After welding, remove the slag, then remove heat tint and oxide with pickling or cleaning gel.
- AISI 304 is intended for general use; choose AISI 316 for chloride media, sea water and swimming pool applications.
- Direct contact between stainless steel and galvanized or carbon steel can cause galvanic corrosion; use insulation (washers, unions) between different metals.
