How Does a Water Pressure Reducing Valve Work?
The operating principle of water pressure reducing valves is based on the balance
of two opposing forces.
These forces are:
1- The force exerted by the compressed spring
2- The force exerted by the water pressure on the piston
If the spring force is greater than the force acting on the piston, the piston
moves downward; if it is smaller, the piston moves upward, and
this regulates the outlet pressure in a controlled way.
The water pressure reducing valve lowers the pressure of high-pressure mains water to prevent damage to the plumbing system and to the appliances connected to it.
What a water pressure reducing valve does:
- Prevents damage caused by water hammer.
- Prevents noise caused by pressurized water.
- Saves water by balancing the pressure. In laboratory tests,
reducing a pressure of 7.8 bar to 3 bar was shown to cut total water consumption by 25%.
- Protects washing machines, dishwashers, combi boilers and water heaters from the harmful effects of high-pressure water.
* Not for use with air or gas; designed for water only

Installation
How Do You Install the Case Mini Pressure Reducing Valve?
Installing the water pressure reducing valve:
This product can be installed upright, on its side or upside down.
Before installation, close the inlet valves and make sure the mains water supply is shut off.
During installation, make sure the arrow on the valve body points in the direction of water flow.
For reliable operation and a longer service life, it is recommended to install a strainer upstream of the pressure reducing valve.
Models with a pressure gauge are recommended so that the outlet pressure can be monitored.
Calibration
How Do You Adjust the Water Pressure Reducing Valve?
Water pressure reducing valves are factory-calibrated to a set pressure of 3 bar. The set
pressure can be changed by the user if required. To change the set pressure,
first unscrew the black plastic cap on top of the valve by turning it by hand. Then turn the
hex-socket adjusting screw located inside the opening with an Allen key to make the
adjustment.
To change the set pressure:
- to increase it, turn the adjusting screw clockwise ( + ),
- to decrease it, turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise ( - ),
until the desired pressure value is reached.
